A small borough located in western Bucks County, Chalfont is a primarily rural region that is home to a number of farms and residential communities. Originally a settlement of the Lenape Native Americans, the village of Chalfont grew around a tavern, one which still stands stands to this day. Though it went through a number of name changes in history, officials settled on Chalfont in honor of the English home of William Penn’s first wife. The area contains a historic district, which houses many structures built in the colonial and Victorian styles. Although the population is relatively small, with 4,009 residents as of 2010, the median household income for the borough is $63,491.
